Abstract

The question of crimes against future generations remains a difficult one and will be resolved most probably only by an international treaty clearly defining the crimes against future generations on the one hand or individual crimes within this concept as for instance international environmental crimes on the other hand. Consequently the legal institute of universality could be applied as it is the case with the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. Instruments do exist but are vague and not totally codified. A systematic codification could bring a new precedent bringing CEO‘s on the same level with the head of
states, government ministers and army generals.
