Presented research analyses the development of social care for minors in the territory of Czechoslovakia since 1945 across the 1950s. Close attention is paid to the identification of Soviet models incorporated in legislation on the territory of Czechoslovakia and their consequences for the application practice in the agenda of social care for minors, demonstrated on the basis of archival sources. Attention is given in particular to the consequences of these measures for the functioning of child welfare institutions and their wider social implications.
