Abstract

Insolvency law is a stable part of the legal systems of countries with a market economy. This is also the case in the Slovak Republic. The specific historical development in the territory of present-day Slovakia is the period of the directive economy, but also the earlier legislation, which originated in Austria during the crisis period caused by the First World War. The paper examines the historical development of insolvency law in the territory of present-day Slovakia over a period of almost 100 years.
